Sligo is such an interesting town. We spent one day there and for us that was perfect. There isn't a ton to do, but it is a great way to wind down before you take off to Dublin or Belfast. We needed a place to relax and take a beat before we went into full energy mode again to explore all we could of Dublin. It was the end of our trip and we were starting to feel a little tired from hopping from one place to the next. We stayed at the Sligo Park Hotel. This hotel was huge compared to all the other we stayed in. I was super impressed and loved the traditional english breakfasts they served in the morning. English breakfasts have big pork sausages and baked beans.
Sligo is a big surfer and fishing town. It is close to the coast and has great waves. I was embarrassingly surprised that people surfed in Ireland. I had always assumed that it would be too cold. We stopped into a outdoor recreation shop across the street from where we had just enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying a coffee and beer, and he mentioned this to us. He also gave us the run-down on hunting and fishing in the area. I love hearing what the locals love to do for fun and how they enjoy getting outside.
We did some more exploring around the town, taking in the sights. This was another town that is just as you imagine it to be. We came across another restaurant with pizza in the Italian Quarter. Even though we had pretty much been living off of pizza, we decided to give in one more night. Bistro Bianconi was SO GOOD! I could not get enough of it!
Driving on the left-side of the road isn't as weird as I thought it would be. Granted I was just the passenger. I think the hardest thing about it was all of the roundabouts. It is easy to get lost in these. We paid to have international service so we could have a GPS. It was 100% worth the extra charge. We were able to navigate pretty seamlessly and even take the backroads if we wanted to. Since I wasn't the driver my job was to take lots of photos. One of my favorite things was all of the sheep you would see. There were also these yellow flowers that covered entire hillsides, springtime in Ireland is GORGEOUS.

Where to Find the Best Deal:
We booked this trip with TripMasters. It included all of our hotels, car, and flights for traveling from London to 4 cities in Ireland. A little pricy, but it was nice to have everything planned out for us in one go.
