Lisa Falls Trail

Lisa Falls is one of the easiest ways to get up close to a waterfall in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The trail is just under 0.3 miles out and back with room for experienced hikers to explore above the falls. It will leave you aching for more! But if you have time the Little Cottonwood Creek Trail is just across the street. This is a great hike for all seasons and all abilities, including little kids. This is a very family friendly hike for any age. I would take my 4-year old nephew on this trail and make him hike the whole thing. It is a great introductory hike for kids that age. The only challenge is crossing the creek to get to the waterfall. There are logs and rocks in place for you to do this, you just can't be afraid to get your feet a little wet.

I had never seen this waterfall and wanted to get up into the canyon before I started work. It was perfect for that. I was able to enjoy driving up the canyon and seeing all of the green leaves and waterfalls as the snow is melting. Lisa Falls took my breath away and I saw in front of it for awhile letting the mist splash onto me. I can see why even though this is such a short hike, so many people come and view it. I would even recommend just making a quick pit-stop on the way.

What You Want to Know:

Take Me There!

Head up Little Cottonwood Canyon past the B Gates. I used GPS to take me to the trailhead and it worked great. Parking will be on the left side of the road heading up.

How long is the hike?

The hike is 0.3 miles out and back with an elevation gain of 121 feet. If you want a little more adventure and are an experienced hiker you can go above the waterfall. It is not recommended to inexperienced hikers.

What do I wear?!

Depending on the weather will determine your clothing, but for shoes you don't need anything too crazy. I really liked having my FiveTen Access shoes because they allowed me to climb over rocks with ease.

Can I bring my dogs?

Dogs are not allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon, it is a watershed area.
